Dr. Alison Cronin is a British zoologist, primatologist, and animal welfare advocate. She is best known as the Director of Monkey World, a primate rescue centre located in Dorset, England. Cronin co-founded Monkey World in 1987, and today, it is home to over 250 primates from around the world.
Cronin has dedicated her life to the welfare and conservation of primates. In addition to running Monkey World, she has travelled the world to promote the conservation of apes and monkeys and has fought against the illegal wildlife trade. Cronin has also appeared in several TV documentaries, including "Monkey Life," a series that follows the daily routines and activities of the primates at Monkey World.
Throughout her career, Cronin has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work, including the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2015 for services to primates and animal welfare overseas. Her dedication to helping primates in need has made her a respected figure in the animal welfare community.
